Beginner Mtn. Scene 10 X 8 OIL

Well, once again ,Kathryn has expanded my experiences in the wonderful world of art. This Thursday painting day she was kind enough to bring the necessary tools to start painting with oil....How different it is!!!! We had fun and time just flew by....This is the start of a new form for me...I intend to work more on this painting....Will post the result if it is worthy.....Am excited....
THANK YOU, KATHRYN
Very approiate,,,Easter new beginnings,,new painting fun..............
Feel free to critique/////////////////////

Casual Poppies... 4 X 6

As a larger picture this wasn't very pleasing to the eye, but after some cropping, I made it a THANK YOU card. Don't waste the
paper if you can help it....Everyone likes a home made card....
Bill took the picture with the rocks behind the card....Thought it was neat.....

Bright Poppies 5 X 7.5

Last week , on our Thursday paint day, I played around
with poppies....I always like flowers, but painting them with
the correct shadows is a challenge...The work above this one
was the first draft .... I had to cut it down to card size.

Underground Hut 5 X 7.5

This painting was based on a photo taken in Southern England...Am practicing shadows....Looks like I'd better keep practicing.... However, painting is fun even if it is just parctice....

Southwest Sunset 10X8

I painted this picture two years ago. Got lucky with the sky..Using ink seems to work better than using black or indigo paint....Can't seem to get the black dark enough with paint...Fun painting....

Mountain Halo 4X6

The wind blew the snow from the mtns. and formed the Halo effect..... The pine trees were painted using a sponge, cut in the shape of a tree..I like the simplicity of the picture....
