AUTUMN STILL LIFE... Oil
Our Thursday painting day at Kathryns house was awesome.. Kathryn had set the still life in her studio.. Yvonne , an artist friend of Kathryns visited her Wednesday and painted with her. Yvonne did a fine job with her AUTUMN STILL LIFE.. You can view her painting at http://ryvonnecolclasurefineart.com/
After getting to her site, click on "blog" to view this painting.
Amy and I visited Kathryn on Thursday to attempt the same still life... So you should visit Kathryns blog and see her TWO autumn still life.

After viewing these two professionals , you will plainly see level of artists I try to work along side.... Both ladies are dedicated to their art.. They have experienced many work shops , classes and daily practice.
Thanks for visiting.
Love this season!!!

YOSEMITE PARK..... Watercolor
This is a painting of a photo sent by Janette Galvin from their family trip to Yosemite Park in September ... she did a fine job of taking some awesome photos... Will probably use some others in attempted paintings...
This is El Capitan on the left, Merced River in the foreground, Cathedral Rock and Bridalveil Falls on the Right...
Maybe this could be better in oil..At least it's something new on the blog.
Thanks for visiting.. More paintings soon..

VW THING TRIP: 2011 ... Vacation
What a fine trip to Yellowstone Park, across WY to SD, past Crazy Horse to Mt. Rushmore...
12 VW THings and 28 happy "thingers".
So many wonderful scenes and fun places. We are a happy "gang" traveling the back roads of ID, WY, SD and NV.
Thank you for visiting...Some new painting soon........................................
12 VW THings and 28 happy "thingers".
Our annual trip was well organized and lead by Karen and Andrew Lockhart...Many thanks.
The weather was wonderful, maybe a little hot at times, but rather acceptable.. A favorite form of air-conditioner is a wet hand towel around the neck or on the legs...Believe me, it works.

COWBOY HATS...Acrylic studies.
Just some pictures in Acrylics for our class..
I find the medium more difficult than water colors.. However, the more I work with the acrylics I can see the possibilities.. Ron Arthaud, our teacher, has made painting interesting because of the way he "sees" the articles and the space between the articles.. Color and form have become more realistic to me... Can't say the paintings are very good, but the process is interesting...

PHOTOS FROM COAST TRIP, OREGON.
In March we headed to Coors Bay to visit family and friends in Oregon...I believe the only time the sun shone, was when Bill took this picture of the B&B that we stayed at for 2 nights...Highly recommended..
We sure enjoyed the coast, even in all the rain...
The Nevada desert was just a pleasurable in its own way.. The wild burros were exciting to see. Nice treat..

Have some "beginner acrylic" pictures will post next week..Just some class work.
An assignment for class is to sketch at least 15 minutes a day...OK..
Thanks for visiting.

Acrylic Trials....Rooster and Still life..
These are two trials using acrylic paints...
The rooster will be a "pin up" for my sister- in- laws hens who live in the city...
The new medium is quite different from the usual watercolors.
I am taking a class at the College taught by RON ARTHAUD. He works in oil. There is an excitement in his nature that is contagious.
I will get better if I keep trying....

AMY IN MEXICO... Watercolor...
Kathryn and I decided to get that
"warm feeling"
that our friend, Amy is experiencing in Mexico. Poor thing is there for the winter months...
Two views of the same picture.
Hopefully my next post will be acrylics.
We are taking a class at Great Basin College, from a well know artist,
Ron Arthaud
You can see some of his work at

WINTER SUNSET...Watercolor...
Looks like a new painting because Kathryn said it was time...Guess a month is tooooooo long to wait before something different .
Winter is my favorite season, but snow and shadows certainly need to be practice.
I like this picture. It is the second time I tried this.
Maybe have to try it again.
Thanks for visiting..
Don't give up..
